California Interstate Commerce Exemption

Despite having a reputation for being a difficult state for tax planning strategies, California has an incredible sales/use tax planning opportunity for aircraft owners.  The California Interstate Commerce Exemption potentially allows aircraft owners to have their aircraft be completely exempt from sales/use tax in California throughout their entire duration of ownership.  While the California Interstate Commerce Exemption does require specific planning, ACLG is well versed in the requirements and the record keeping rules required to obtain this incredible exemption.

ACLG has helped hundreds of our clients take advantage of the California Interstate Commerce Exemption throughout over 25 years in the general aviation industry.  Through the use of our proprietary online flight log tool, we are able to easily capture all of the necessary information to prepare, submit, and defend your exemption.  Once submitted and approved, we will provide you with a clearance letter approving the exemption from the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA).

While there are many companies that can assist with the California Interstate Commerce Exemption process, ACLG is unique in the industry that we are first and foremost a law firm and also assist in federal income tax planning, FAA compliance, and legal guidance, all of which is included in a fixed annual fee.  This is why ACLG is the Tax, Legal, and Compliance (“TLC”) expert in the general aviation industry.  Contact us today to see how you can start planning to save on your new aircraft acquisition!
