Battle joined Advocate’s business development efforts in 2005, working alongside Louis Meiners, Jr., the founder of Advocate Aircraft Taxation Company, to promote the groundbreaking work of the company. In 2010, the former Marine Corps. Air Control Officer was appointed to his current role of Director of Business Development. In addition to immersing himself into the world of business aviation, Battle has provided vital input with respect to aircraft markets and served as an exemplary liaison to aviators in search of tax-efficient solutions for their flying endeavors. Moreover, he coined the term “Aviation TLC”, a perfect articulation of the package of services that the firm provides. “Scott has been an incredible public face of our organization,” reflects firm co-owner and Managing Attorney, Suzanne Meiners-Levy. “It has been an honor to learn from and work beside him for the past fifteen years, and I will miss his always optimistic and joyful spirit during our travels to aviation events around the country.”
In reflecting upon his time at Advocate, the Marine Corps. veteran expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to have appreciated the world of aviation through his interactions with clients and industry leaders – “it was truly enjoyable,” he added. “Aviation has been a part of my life since childhood – my brother has his pilot’s license and my father flew B-17s over Germany in World War II,” Battle noted.
With respect to future plans post-retirement, the newly-made grandfather stated he looks forward to spending time with family, an element from his life he cherishes deeply. Following Battle’s retirement, Advocate’s Business Development team will be led by Senior Legal Advisor Patrick Bornstein, with the support of sales professionals Amen Alayyan and John Hawley.
Advocate Consulting Legal Group provides Tax, Legal, and Compliance services in a single engagement in order to streamline the process of acquiring a business aircraft and managing the tax concerns and compliance needs on a go-forward basis. With this aim in mind, services are provided as a flat fee three-year contract to each client that is aircraft specific. Offered services include the design, implementation, and monitoring of an ownership/operational structure that best suits the owner’s specific needs.
